"When teenage Priscilla Beaulieu meets Elvis Presley at a party, the man who is already a meteoric rock 'n' roll superstar becomes someone entirely unexpected in private moments: a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness, and a vulnerable best friend" (Google). Sofia Coppola's Priscilla (2023) provides insight into Priscilla Presley's personal life based on her experiences, a long overdue movie. Unlike Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis" (2022), Priscilla is through the eyes of a teenage girl, capturing being in stardom and a tumultuous relationship perfectly. It's more accurate and raw compared to other Hollywood films with Priscilla; we get to see her life from the start of her relationship with Elvis until the end. Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla and Jacob Elordi as Elvis provide excellent performances. I love Sofia Coppola's work and the style of this movie. The cinematography makes the period (50s - 60s) so effortlessly beautiful. This movie
is a 5/5, an intimate portrait delicately explores Priscilla's life alongside Elvis. Coppola's approach balances the portrayal of Elvis, showing him not just as a cultural icon but as a flawed individual whose lifestyle and dependencies shaped those around him, especially Priscilla.
